Irish Apple Pie – Original Recipe from Ireland

Irish Apple Pie

500 g apples
5 tablespoons Irish Whisky
180g butter
125 g brown sugar
3 eggs
180 g flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
a pinch of salt
icing sugar

Peel, core and cut the apples into thin slices. Cover with Whisky and leave it for half an hour.
Place butter, sugar and eggs into a bowl and mix it for at least 5 minutes until foamy.
Mix flour, salt and baking powder and stir into the mixture. Add apple slices and fold into the dough. Butter a pie pan and pour the mixture in.
Bake the apple pie on the middle rack at 220 °for 45 minutes. Take it out, let it cool down and ice with sugar.
